That makes silicon carbide and gallium nitride strategically relevant to Czechia, where automotive and industrial customers already form a large part of the manufacturing economy.

The commercial reading
SiC generally becomes attractive in high-voltage and high-temperature applications where lower switching losses can justify higher device cost. GaN is strong in high-frequency power conversion and can enable smaller, more efficient systems in appropriate voltage ranges. For Czech suppliers, the opportunity extends beyond making wafers or transistors. Packaging, testing, power modules, control electronics, thermal management and equipment can all sit around the device itself.

The commercial test is adoption, not conference interest. Follow design wins in vehicles and industrial equipment, local packaging or test investment, university-industry programmes and supplier contracts. Czechia benefits most if wide-bandgap growth pulls more engineering and manufacturing value into the domestic supply chain.
