25 of the Biggest Companies in Czechia and the Industries Behind Them

Czechia's biggest companies reveal the structure of the economy more clearly than almost any macro chart. Automotive manufacturing remains central, energy groups sit near the top of revenue and tax rankings, foreign-owned industrial plants are major employers and exporters, while retail, banking, telecoms and ecommerce provide a large domestic layer.

There is no single perfect definition of 'biggest'. CZECH TOP 100 publishes rankings based on revenue and other economic indicators, while the Czech Financial Administration separately publishes the country's largest corporate income-tax payers. This guide therefore uses those sources together with current company information to identify 25 businesses that are among the most economically significant operators in Czechia rather than pretending that every private-company revenue figure is directly comparable.

Automotive and industry still set the scale

Škoda Auto is the country's defining corporate name. It has repeatedly appeared at or near the top of Czech revenue rankings and was the largest corporate income-tax payer for 2025, according to the Financial Administration. Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic reinforce the country's role as one of Europe's most automotive-intensive economies.

Foxconn CZ represents the electronics-manufacturing side of the export base. Continental Barum, Třinecké železárny, Moravia Steel, Bosch Group ČR and Iveco Czech Republic add tyres, steel, industrial engineering and commercial vehicles. These businesses matter not only for their own revenue but for the Czech supplier networks clustered around them.

Energy is the other corporate heavyweight

ČEZ is the dominant Czech energy company and one of the country's largest businesses by both revenue and tax contribution. Energetický a průmyslový holding, or EPH, has also ranked among the country's largest groups, with energy assets extending well beyond Czechia. ORLEN Unipetrol is central to refining and petrochemicals, while ČEPRO and ČEPS occupy critical fuel-distribution and electricity-transmission roles.

The energy category explains why revenue rankings can look unusual. Commodity prices can move turnover sharply from one year to the next without the underlying company suddenly becoming proportionally larger in employees or domestic footprint. That is another reason to treat any one-year league table cautiously.

Retail, finance and telecoms broaden the picture

Lidl, Kaufland and Penny Market are among the biggest retail operators in the country, while Alza.cz is the most visible Czech ecommerce name in the top corporate tier. Plzeňský Prazdroj remains a major consumer-goods exporter and one of the country's best-known brands.

In finance, Česká spořitelna, ČSOB and Komerční banka are among the largest banking institutions and also appear prominently in the tax-payer rankings. O2 Czech Republic and CETIN represent the telecoms and digital-infrastructure layer. Agrofert spans agriculture, food and chemicals, making it one of the country's largest diversified industrial groups.

Taken together, the list shows a Czech economy that is more diversified than the shorthand 'car-manufacturing country' suggests, but still heavily shaped by capital-intensive industry, export manufacturing and energy. For investors and suppliers entering Czechia, those sectors remain the fastest route to understanding where corporate purchasing power sits.
